UPDATE: If you have been waiting and waiting for the new Streets album, then your time has come. Mike Skinner has announced that he will be releasing the new album, entitled Everything is Borrowed, on October 7 via Vice Records. According to a MySpace blog post, this will be the second to last Streets album.
And if you want to hear the new music right now, head over to The Streets MySpace, where Mike has uploaded seven of the new tracks. If you want to hear the last four, according to a blog post, they are hidden on other bands’ profiles. Happy hunting!
Mike writes about Everything: “It’s the sound of an inner monologue and imagined beach-like new horizons. It has 11 songs on it which, of course, is the number that solves life itself.”
For his last album, Skinner writes, “The final Streets album (the fifth one) will be dark and futuristic. This could not be further from the album you’re about to hear, but it’s what is on my mind at the moment.”
Everything is Borrowed also will be available in a limited-edition USB version, which looks like a Streets lighter. The USB version will contain the album and access to exclusive video content, which will be updated regularly, featuring guerrilla videos, behind-the-scenes footage, exclusive live photos and interviews with Mike.
