Stereo

UPDATE: Soda Stereo has added one more U.S. date for their “Me Veras Volver” tour. Most thought New York would be the chosen city, but instead, Soda will perform in Miami, Florida at the American Airlines Arena on December 5. So for those of you who were assed out of good tickets for the Los Angeles show, you can fly to Miami. By then, Florida will be out of hurricane season.

More details to come on the ticket sales.

Start saving that lunch money! Cancel that Starbucks order! Pulpo Magazine breaks the news first by making the announcement via their MySpace bulletin that world famous Spanish rock band Soda Stereo will be visiting Southern California on November 21 at the Home Depot Center in Carson.

For those of you who haven’t been following the news (which really means your head has been under the sand), Soda Stereo recently announced a series of concerts that would take place in Latin America and the U.S. Dates have been announced for Argentina, Mexico and Colombia and finally, a U.S. show has been set.

This will be the first time Soda Stereo will play together in more than 10 years. The last time they played in Los Angeles was at the Olympic Auditorium.

Tickets for the November 21 show go on sale this Friday, August 10, at 10am. Tickets are priced at $200 to $45.

To save you some time from camping out at Ritmo Latino, The Scenestar has acquired the password for today’s presale, which starts Thursday, August 9 at 10am to 10pm Pacific Time (or while supplies last). The presale password is “CERATI.” This Soda Stereo concert has been years in the making and The Scenestar is happy to share this information with you while we count down the days till November 21.

The show is a Goldenvoice show so for sure it will be on Ticketmaster. You better be camped at Ritmo Latino cause this is the Roc reunion of the year! (Sorry Heroes Del Silencio)

Cual es la differencia entre los seating del Home Depot Center? Es el grass seating bueno? Gracias

  16. Oscar Avatar

Yes, grass is MUY BUENO! If it’s like the Heroes show, it’s general admission in the grass. That means the earlier you get there, the better spot you’ll have. That means don’t be late!

  17. Oscar Avatar

You can also use the password “ARGENTINA” for the other pre-sale by AEG. “CERATI” is the MySpace pre-sale password. As of now, you can still get General Admission FLOOR seats.

Como son los General Admission FLOOR seats. Estoy media confundida. Los General Admission son de $200 dolares, y los Grass Seats son $45, pero cuando hago search por los de $45 me traen sitios en la seccion 200 que parecen estar muy lejos. Alguna recommendacion?
    Gracias!

Whats up with these ridiculous prices? $200 for seats??? The most expensive tix for Heroes was $65 for floor tickets. For Soda, floor is going for either $150 or $200. Anyone know the difference?
I have $85 GA tix and I have no idea what that means. I love Soda and Cerati, but this concert is starting to stink.

  20. Oscar Avatar

I’m thinking either Soda Stereo is asking ALOT for the reunion, thus raising tickets prices. Another is maybe they think fans will pay that much to see them since they’re so popular. I’m also thinking that would be the prices scalpers would sell the tickets for anyway so they figure they would at least get the aftermarket price. I’m sure they’re something contributing to the high price. I wouldn’t go as far as to compare Heroes Del Silencio to Soda Stereo. That’s like comparing pricing for a Cure show VS Morrissey show.

I also get my tickets at $200 in area 133 row x seats 16-18, does anybody has the seating chart for soda stereo?

  22. paula gonzalez Avatar

dude, its soda stereo they have reason to charge that much, have you seen their lives shows? you’re paying your moneys worth, its a freaking reunion after 10 years. its soda stereo.

  23. Oscar Rangel Avatar

True Paula. I’m sure if The Smiths were EVER to get back together, how much would you pay? If The Smiths charged as much as Soda Stereo is charging, you’ll probably have people complaining too. You just got to figure out if you really do want to see Soda Stereo. I’m sure they won’t be coming back to L.A. every few months. From what it sounds like, it’s a one time deal. Is it worth it now?

  24. Mando Avatar
    Mando

Soda Stereo is one of if not the greatest rock en espanol bands of all time. $200 is still way too much to charge their fans. Plus these guys aren’t exactly poor.
If the Smiths got back together and charged $1000 per ticket, yeah they’d probably still sell out, but they’d be keeping out the majority of their true fans. Just cuz you can charge a ridiculous amount doesn’t mean you should.

  25. paulag Avatar

true true. but either way, like oscar’s says how much is it worth for very fan to see them?

  26. Mando Avatar
    Mando

I guess it depends how jodido you are. Oh well at least theres $45 grass seats (where the hell are those anyway?)
Anyways im psyched, Heroes and Soda within months of each other, fucking awesome. I’m off now to get my fresa on at the Maria Daniela show.

  27. paulag Avatar

euughhh heroes del silencio. didn’t they die?
    that’s fresa.

  28. Oscar Avatar

Sorry Paula, you must have Heroes Del Silencio confused with Mana. lol

  29. paula gonzalez Avatar

no i don’t have them confused, mana is also dead…… along with heroes.
and jaguares and maldita vecindad and la lupita and … geez..

  30. Oscar Avatar

If Mana is dead, then who’s playing the Staples Center? Casper The Friendly Ghost?

  31. paula gonzalez Avatar

yeah. they just replay all the cd’s i mean they basically sound the same.
    hehhehehehe.

  32. Oscar Avatar

They can always just put it on Super Estrella 107.1 if they don’t want to use a CD player. Every other song they play is a Mana song.

  33. Lolita Avatar
    Lolita

Couldnt afford a $200 ticket. Love their music but still think its too much. $100 per ticket AND they would have to be the best seats.
So excited, Hereoes in Sept and Soda in Nov. Does this mean that with all my travel miles accumalting I get a free beer @ Home Depot Center?!

  34. ceci* Avatar

I was under the impression that the “floor” tickets are all general admission… even though they mention seats… i tried looking at the so called map, but there still isn’t one up for soda… anyone know? maybe it’s the same layout as for heroes? thanx 🙂

  35. Oscar Avatar

I was under the impression that if you got lawn, it’s general admission. Same with the $100 tickets. Ticketmaster always puts “seat” numbers on general admission tickets, but doesn’t necessarily mean you have a seat. If it doesn’t say General Admission and it has a seat #, then you do have an assigned seat. Not confusing, right? I would be there early just to make sure you get the best seat or spot on the floor for the show.

  36. paulag Avatar

this is why every man to its own with ticket sales especially when there’s no map to speficiy.

  37. Oscar Avatar

Hey Paula, so what’s the next reunion you’re waiting for, Magneto? Vuela vuela! You know you love it =)

  38. paulag Avatar

dude, when a band breaks up, they break up, that’s it.
i hate band reunions. but soda stereo has to be the only exception for doing over a decade. and because they left on such a good fucking note. =========
foo i hear you got your timbiriche cassette collection out from the basement. ==soy un desastre==
    puahaha

  39. Oscar Avatar

I also think reunions are great if it’s after such a long time (10+ years)because they’re exposing themselves to fans that love them and never got the chance to see them. Bands like Duran Duran & Smashing Pumpkins keep breaking off and on that it doesn’t feel as special. Cool, but not the same as when The Pixies, Rage Against The Machine or New York Dolls got back together recently.
Since you’re not a big fan of reunions, I think that’s the reason Paula that you NEVER want RBD to break up. That way you don’t have to have the heartbreak of never seeing Rebelde perform live again should they grow up and split up the group. 10 years after, you’ll be begging for the reunion tour. jajaja…

  40. paulag Avatar

wait a minute, didn’t RBD end when the novela ended? osea son de verdad? oh no!
Wait a minute, didn’t you arrange the caravan to the sports arena when RBD performed there, even under the rain you sang each song? hhehehehe..
look alright im a timbiriche fan, but look at those foos their reunion comes at basis of a reality show to choose the next generation of timiriche.. EUUUUGHHH..
yes, you’re right it has to be a reunion worth within the definition of a reunion because its all emotional, break up and comeback and break up again and comeback no thanks.

The $150 tix are the best. The $200 dollar ones are on the side. What a ripoff!
I had the ticketmaster customer support people call their “rep” for this event to request an exchange.
In the end I successfully exchanged my four $200 tickets for $150 pit tickets.

  42. paulag Avatar

thanks for the info! awesome hussling!

  43. ceci* Avatar

that doesn’t make sense?! but if it’s so, im there already! thanx 🙂

  44. Dannyboy3D Avatar

    Yes that is correct…
The $150 seats are the best at the show–right in front of the stage. The $85 seats are behind that section. Grass seating/Standing room is way in the back, at $45-65.
$45 is also the pricing for the 200’s sections, while the 100’s pay $200. If you’re hoping to be closest to the stage after paying $200, you’re wrong, and a loser.
See, this is what you learn after being smart and doing your research aka calling the Home Depot Center who has the seating chart for the show at their grasp.

  45. paulag Avatar

dannyboy3d i greatly appreciate your insight since i held back in buying tickets and decided to wait it out and go scalp for this, this helps many people as myself to figure out the freaking pinche seating chart.
    awesome calabaza.

C’mon ppl stop whining…seriously, it’s SODA STEREO, if you don’t agree with the prices, fine you don’t have to buy an expensive one, that’s what the 45$ tickets are for,, of course you will only get to see Soda Stereo;s shadow…haha

  48. Vitor Avatar
    Vitor

Ehhh…$200? I’ll pass. I went to see the rolling stones and metallica together for a similar price…but, soda??? wtf…why are they asking so much? I’ll pass they kind of suck anyways.

OK so I called the Home Depot Center Box office:
    $200 – On the side : Areas 132/131/130 – 110/111/112/113
$150 – Right in front of the Stage, first half of the stadium.
$85 – Second half of stadium, behind the $150tix.
    Hope that helps!
