The final Gustavo Dudamel concert in Los Angeles as Music & Artistic Director of the LA Phil will also be a fundraiser for a great cause! The LA Phil will send Gustavo Dudamel off with “A Concert for Venezuela,” a special benefit concert set to take place on Sunday, August 23, at the Hollywood Bowl. Presented in response to the devastating earthquakes in Venezuela, the concert will raise funds to support affected communities.
Gustavo Dudamel will lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic, with a full program and a star-studded lineup of guest artists including Beck, Natalia Lafourcade, Giveon, Meme del Real (of Café Tacvba), Carlos Vives, Eduardo Betancourt, Adria Duque, Jorge Glem, Lasso, Moisés Torrealba, Ernesto Laya, Elvis Martinez, Nella, Gregorio Nieto, and members of YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles). All donations raised by the concert will be directed to Dudamel’s Earthquake Recovery to Support Venezuelan Communities fund, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, and the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) fund. Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic musicians will also contribute their time for this event. If you can’t make it, you can donate directly to the UNDP relief fund.
