It's time to get prepared for this weekend's festival return of Cruel World, Scenestar readers! Cruel World will be back on Saturday, May 11, at Brookside at the Rose Bowl with headliner Duran Duran. The list of curated Goth and New Wave acts coming to Pasadena this year include Interpol, Blondie, Simple Minds, Placebo, Soft Cell, Adam Ant, Ministry (performing songs from With Sympathy & Twitch), The Jesus and Mary Chain, Gary Numan (performing The Pleasure Principle), Dreamcar, TR/ST, The Faint, Heaven 17, French Police, Mission UK, The Stranglers, General Public, Lol Tulhurst x Budgie, Model/Actriz, The Alarm, Adult., The Motels, Nuovo Testamento, Harsh Symmetry, Body of Light, Zanias, Patriarchy, Leathers, Balvanera, and Tones On Tail.
If you want to attend, tickets to Cruel World 2024 are on sale now via AXS with tiered pricing starting at $209 each plus service fees for general admission (GA), $299 each plus service fees for general admission + (GA+), $429 each plus service fees for VIP, and $949 each plus service fees for Clubhouse which includes a special viewing area and preferred parking). Either VIP option grants you everything a GA ticket provides, plus dedicated VIP entry, access to the VIP area adjacent to the main stage, air-conditioned restrooms, additional shade and seating areas, exclusive food & beverage vendors, and a commemorative festival poster.
