What is the best and worst thing about your profession?
One of my favorite things is traveling all over and getting the opportunity to meet different people. The downside is that you’re usually on a schedule so the time to get a feel for a different city is pretty short, but it’s cool developing relationships with different people and places even if they’re based on a limited timeline.
What is something you didn’t know about Los Angeles that you recently found out or realized?
It’s illegal to drive more than 2000 sheep on Hollywood Blvd.
Where is your favorite place to eat in LA?
I like The 101 Coffee Shop lately. The couple vegan things I get are always great and it’s classic decor reminds me of childhood memories.
What was the last good book you read that you recommend?
I read the Noel Monk book about managing Van Halen, "Runnin' with the Devil: A Backstage Pass to the Wild Times, Loud Rock, and the Down and Dirty Truth Behind the Making of Van Halen" up until 1983 and assuming everyone loves Van Halen (which I do) they should read that.
Have you ever seen a work of art that stopped you in your tracks?
The Large Glass by Marcel Duchamp
What is the most remarkable movie you’ve ever seen and what was it about the film?
My favorite movie right now is Drugstore Cowboy. I like movies that can blend content or genre and be funny and dramatic and dark and violent all at once.
Name your pop-culture guilty pleasure.
Some Kind Of Wonderful, but i suppose it’s not really a guilty pleasure. I talk about it often, and with no prompting, to basically anyone who will listen.
What is the most underrated album you’ve heard and what about it is special?
Who do you think is the best rockstar who ever lived?
What is the scariest thing you’ve ever experienced?
Are you familiar with the song “The Candyman Can?” One time I was in this band and we had to camp at a festival and some psychopathic hipster camping behind me was singing this song.
Where is one place that someone can visit in LA for free that is a must-experience?
What is the weirdest thing about LA?
Well, if I were at the helm of a city in the desert I’d want to save all the rainwater I could.
