Smashing Pumpkins have announced a reunion tour! Original band members Billy Corgan, James Iha, and Jimmy Chamberlin (sans original bassist D’Arcy Wretzky) will headline an all-ages show at the Forum on Thursday, August 30, performing songs from their first five albums. In a statement, Corgan said: “This show and staging will be unlike any we’ve ever done, and will feature a set unlike any we’ve ever played. For if this is a chance at a new beginning, we plan on ushering it in with a real bang.”
Tickets for the Shiny and Oh So Bright tour date at the Forum will go on sale Friday, February 23, at 10 a.m. via Ticketmaster for $29 to $150 each plus service fees. Check out the tour announcement video below.
The band also is hosting a social media contest in which fans can take a photo (right now in Hollywood) of a Smashing Pumpkins ice cream truck. Check out the contest rules.
