Radiohead, who has two shows at the Shrine in August, will release new album A Moon Shaped Pool on CD and vinyl on Friday, June 17. And to celebrate, Amoeba Music has two special events planned. First, on Thursday, June 16, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., there will be a listening party, where you can purchase the album a day early and receive special gifts with purchase, including buttons and posters (while supplies last).
Then, on Friday, June 17, at 6:00 p.m., Amoeba Music is one of the record stores participating in the Moon Shaped Pool streaming event. According to the album’s website: “A UNIQUE RADIOHEAD EVENT TAKING PLACE ON FRIDAY JUNE 17 AT RECORD STORES GLOBALLY. FEATURES AN EXCLUSIVE DAY LONG AUDIO STREAM FROM THE BAND, COMPETITIONS, INSTRUCTIONAL ARTWORKS AND MORE.” Those who purchase A Moon Shaped Pool on Friday will receive limited-edition artwork from the band.
As reported earlier, Radiohead will headline two nights at the Shrine Auditorium on Thursday, August 4, and Monday, August 8. Tickets for these shows are SOLD OUT.
