Empress Of is back with a new music video for her single “Icon,” a track from newest release Me. The video, which is the 24th installment of the UO Music Video Series, was directed by Eli Born and shot in a forest and New York City. Lorely Rodriguez says of the video: “I found a cinematographer that I loved and we just talked to each other for a couple of weeks. It was this kind of co-direction, we talked about what the song meant, how I wanted it to look, where we wanted to shoot, and how we would get the feeling of the song out of these locations. It was by far my favorite music video I’ve made.”
Rodriguez, AKA Empress Of, last performed a local date at the Echo in September, but there are no return dates as of press time. We’ll let you know if there are any new Empress Of dates here in Los Angeles, Scenestar readers!
