Bob, there’s a difference between haters hating, & idiocy.
    This is the latter.
Their manager stated the info was going to “stagger” out to avoid campouts.
Why would you post these blatantly obvious hints 15 hours before they go onsale? It was handled extremely poorly.

Here’s what you do: online sale (two ticket limit) at noon the day of the show, guest list, photo ID and credit card required to check in, and if you bought a second ticket your friend has to be with you in line and you both enter the venue together.
That’s what they did for Thom Yorke’s “secret show” at the Echoplex and I seem to recall few complaints. I’m sure that some people with slower internet connections or kids without their own credit card got screwed, but I think you make up for that because a lot of other people were able to get tickets at work. There were a few scalpers hanging around and I heard reports of tickets on Craigslist, but I’m not sure if they actually sold any because of the photo ID/credit card requirement.
On the other hand, this cloak-and-dagger camp-out stuff can be pretty fun if you’re in the right mood for it. If I didn’t have other commitments, I probably would’ve tried to get tickets for this myself.

Not to mention that there are people that have to work. How about you allow online sales, but you can only purchase one ticket and that ticket name has to match who goes?? Seems like an easier solution to camping out. I’ve been monitoring their tweets, and this just seems like an ultimate FAIL.

My friend went to el rey at 8AM and got in line.
He was about 20 people away from getting tickets before they sold out.
So essentially.. if you didnt camp up or show up disgustingly early you had no chance at tickets. Especially those that waited until official addresses were distributed were already too late.
    Total fail.

Whoa, I hate John Mayer but that idea is actually pretty good. Better than this whole debacle, anyway.
