It's that time again! One of our favorite radio stations here in Los Angeles, KCRW, will start its Winter Subscription Drive from Thursday Jan. 27 till Friday, Feb. 4. KCRW is a public radio station based in Santa Monica, and it plays a lot of the music we know and love here at The Scenestar. In fact, most of the Scenestar staff are proud card carrying KCRW members!
What KCRW needs from you, Scenestar reader, is help answering phones in its pledge room. KCRW even has a 20-minute online orientation slide show, so you can learn beforehand how to use the pledge system! We volunteer for every drive, and it feels good to help one of our favorite radio stations, while also making new friends, eating great food, winning prizes and meeting some of our favorite KCRW DJs. Of course, it's more than just winning prizes, getting cool premiums and winning four pairs of concert tickets a year. It's about supporting a station with the vision and freedom to play great new music, while other stations play Top 40 hits over and over. KCRW is usually the first to play the new bands you grow to love, and it sponsors a lot of great shows here in Los Angeles.
