Pomona was a stop on the highway revisited by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, who blazed into town with a hard driven set at the Glass House. From right at the edge of stage I realized how hard these guys work. They looked like they just peeled off the lone highway for a jam at the rough roadhouse with still enough strength to ride off into an all nighter. Their tattered leather boots and jackets would make Marlon Brando grin & sneer. From the first chord they ripped into, it was all business.
When Black Rebel screams, "What Ever Happened To My Rock & Roll?!", well it was right there in the Glass House all right, and the crowd just ate it up. Alt.music may have softened a bit recently, but Black Rebel Motorcycle Club easily reminded us what we've been missing. How refreshing it was to see guys taking off instead with guitars, and leaving that stupid Mac laptop at the office. Turn on and tune into BRMC, it 'aint too late.
