After performing at the Music Box a few months ago, Frightened Rabbit is on to bigger venues—performing at the Mayan on Wednesday, Oct. 13, and at the House of Blues Anaheim on Friday, Oct. 15. Tickets for these shows will go on sale this weekend. Opening the shows will be Plants and Animals and Bad Veins.

    Great band, but I imagine that as the venues get bigger, the intimacy and heartache of the acoustic ‘Poke’ in the middle of the set will diminish a bit.

    I agree, Dan. In my interview, I asked Scott if it was difficult to sing “Poke” so intimately, and he said not really. He said he performs it that way to recapture the original feelings of that song.
