Coachella is almost upon us, and nothing will stop us from getting to Indio, Calif., except an act of nature. Unfortunately for some Coachella bands, that’s what is going on today. According to the BBC and other sources, the flights of Bad Lieutenant, The Cribs, Delphic and Frightened Rabbit have all been grounded due to volcanic ash from an Icelandic volcano, halting all flights out of the U.K.
The Big Pink, Florence and the Machine, Gorillaz, Imogen Heap, Little Dragon, Mary Anne Hobbs, Miike Snow, Muse, Porcupine Tree, Public Image LTD, The Specials, The xx, Tiesto and Whitest Boy Alive are already in the U.S., while the status of other foreign bands, including 2ManyDjs, Echo & The Bunnymen, Fever Ray and Hot Chip, remain unknown at press time. We’ll keep you updated, Scenestar readers, and we hope all the Coachella bands that are grounded get here safely!
