We finally get some live Interpol tour dates! Unfortunately they’re not happening anywhere near Los Angeles. Interpol has been booked to open for U2‘s 360 tour on the East Coast. The openers for the other remaining North American U2 tour dates include The Fray and Lenny Kravitz, who will be the opener for the U2 Anaheim shows.
For those of you willing to travel to see Interpol‘s first live shows in quite some time, the band will perform with U2 in Minneapolis, East Lansing, Toronto, Chicago, Miami and Philadelphia. Minnesota is the only show that has sold out.
Interpol has been busy recording since its last official tour and has been busy with side projects, including Paul Banks recently playing at the El Rey Theatre as Julian Plenti in support of his solo album. At least this gives us hope that there will be some Interpol dates locally in the near future. We’ll keep you updated if any Interpol dates get added, Scenestar readers!
