It's that time again! One of our favorite radio stations here in Los Angeles, KCRW, will be starting its pledge drive today, Friday, Jan. 29. KCRW is a public radio station based in Santa Monica, Calif., and it plays a lot of the music we know and love here at The Scenestar. In fact, most of the Scenestar staff are KCRW members. One of our photographers even won the Morning Becomes Eclectic contest to see Bloc Party in London! During this pledge drive, KCRW will have some cool contests including a trip to Australia, Mac laptops, a Ford Hydrid and our favorite, a VIP trip to Coachella 2010 during Morning Becomes Eclectic! Some of us are also volunteering during the drive, so if you get one of us on the phone, be sure to say hello.

Pledging your donation to support KCRW is more than just winning prizes, getting cool premiums and winning four pairs of concert tickets a year. It's about supporting a station with the vision and freedom to play great new music when other stations play the Top 40 hits. KCRW is usually the first station to play the new bands you grow to love, and it sponsors A LOT of great shows here in Los Angeles.
