Has it really been that long Yusuf? According to KCRW, it looks like it has. Yusuf Islam (AKA Cat Stevens) will be playing his first Los Angeles show in more than 33 years at the El Rey Theatre on Monday, May 11th. This show is in support of Yusuf's new album Roadsinger. Yusuf Islam will also be playing live on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic on Friday, May 8th.
The show at the El Rey Theatre is a special, private show, and the only way in is to win tickets through KCRW. You must be a KCRW member in order to win, so make sure those subscriptions are paid! More info on how to get your tickets after the jump.
KCRW will be giving away tickets leading up to the El Rey Theatre show during their music programming time slots. When they announce the ticket giveaway on-air on 89.9fm (KCRW's Los Angeles frequency or stream online on KCRW.com), you have to be one of the 1st 5 callers to win. You must be a paid suscriber to win plus you have to give your +1's name when you win.
For those that aren't suscribers to KCRW, you can can suscribe online or call (800) 600-KCRW. If not, you can catch Yusef on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno Wednesday, May 13th. Free tickets are available that morning at the Burbank NBC Box Office on a first come, first served basis.
