Filter, Uncut, Mojo Name Top Albums of 2008

UPDATE: The lists just keep coming! While Filter has named its No. 1 2008 album Oracular Spectacular by New Yorkers MGMT, U.K. magazines Uncut and Mojo have different albums on their top spots, with the former naming Third by recently reunited Portishead as best album of the year and the latter declaring it’s Fleet Foxes’ s/t.

Looks like the Top 2008 albums are pretty varied. Blender and Paste also have different No. 1s.

    I like a bunch of those, but i wouldn’t consider them the best of the year by any means. Maybe The Dears’ one.

    Yeah, I see what you mean. But I definitely think Dear Science has a place on any Top 10.

    Not as puzzling as the lists by Paste and Blender. Surprised by The Dears making the list and by Dr. Dog as well. And technically Oracular Spectacular was released last year.

    Agreed all around. But as I ponder my own list, I’m not even sure what’s making the top 10 this year. It seemed like it was a good year for music, but then why is my list so sparse right now?
