To promote upcoming DVD release Arctic Monkeys at the Apollo, the Arctic Monkeys are offering a free download. A live version of “The View From the Afternoon,” which is on a limited-edition live album that will be packaged with the box set of Apollo, is available only until October 10 on the Monkeys website.
Available in the U.K. on Nov. 3, the Apollo DVD features a 76-minute film of the band’s performance at the Manchester venue during their 2007 tour. The special Apollo box set will include the live CD, which was recorded in Texas in 2006; an original cinema poster from the Manchester Apollo show; and four portrait postcard prints by artist Pete McKee. Sounds pretty cool, right? Unfortunately, no U.S. release date has been set. But you can view a trailer of the film and preorder the U.K. release by visiting the Monkeys’ Apollo website.
