Although their name might make you think otherwise, Fujiya & Miyagi is a band who call Brighton, U.K., home and claim Kraftwerk, Can and Neu! as their influences.
The songs from new album Lightbulbs are self-described by the band as mostly funky, with plenty of synth and percussive elements throughout.
Fujiya & Miyagi will be hitting U.S. shores for a brief tour, which will include a stop here in Los Angeles at the Troubadour on Oct. 30.
As a treat, The Scenestar has been given a T-shirt and a copy of the latest CD to give away to one lucky reader!
To enter, e-mail us your name along with your shipping address and T-shirt size (men’s large, men’s medium or women) to TheScenestarContests@gmail.com. Entries must be received by Monday, Sept. 29, at 6 p.m. And please put as the subject line “Fujiya & Miyagi Contest.”
Please note, entrants for this contest will be added to the band’s e-mail list to receive news and updates unless otherwise specified.
Also, tickets for the Troubadour show are still available and priced at $15. Opening will be French synth-pop band Prototypes.
