The fifth annual F Yeah Fest will take place this year at Echo Park venues on August 30 and 31, and a partial list of acts performing has been announced (see below), with more to be added soon. Also scheduled is a comedy show and an art exhibit. You can also enjoy a taco eating contest, a kissing booth, a dozen vendors selling records, a mariachi band and dozens of street performers. And new to the fest, on day two, there will be a scavenger hunt, more details of which you can get from the F Yeah Fest website. Also, Dan Deacon will perform on August 31 at a secret location, which will be announced on the day of the show.
Now on to more somber news, the F Yeah Fest is in financial trouble. According to an email from fest organizer Sean Carlson: The original financial backer pulled out days before we had planned to announce the lineup, leaving the fest in a very bad position. My friends and I organize this event and other events such as the F Yeah Tour, Mess With Texas & the LA Scavenger Hunt, all of which are labors of love. 100% of your contribution will go towards keeping these events alive and will allow us to continue to grow.
