To make your holidays a little merrier, Belle & Sebastian have recorded a Christmas song for their fans. The new song, “Are You Coming Over For Christmas?”, can be heard on the band’s Web site.
In related news, singer Stuart Murdoch has written a musical, entitled God Help the Girl, which will be filmed in 2009. He is currently working on the soundtrack and recording a number of demos with members of Belle & Sebastian. A singing competition was recently held to find singers for the upcoming soundtrack, which will begin recording in spring 2008. And in more holiday recordings, Coldplay has recorded a cover of Wham holiday classic “Last Christmas.” The band writes: “Check out the video of a festive ditty which Coldplay recorded this week as a Christmas message for you folks. Happy Christmas!”.
