The Scenestar likes vacation time. And so does Snow Patrol. Today, hours before their first concert in Mexico, Snow Patrol announced they will be taking a year off after their international tour ends in September.

The time off will be dedicated to having new experiences before recording their next album, because, according to Snow Patrol keyboardist Tom Simpson in an interview with news agency EFE, “I don’t think you can release an interesting new album about our lives in airports, hotels, and soundchecks.”

Snow Patrol will also take this time off to work on their individual projects.

EFE added that Simpson was fascinated with the estimated 20 million people who live in Mexico City, in comparison wih the 5 million who live in his country. “The farthest I’ve been from Scotland is probably Texas,” Simpson said.
