Okay kids, it’s time to honor two of our favorite Scenestars. Today we honor Mr. Steve Bays, lead singer of Hot Hot Heat, and bandmate Luke Paquin, who both turn 29 this week! Paquin celebrated his birthday yesterday, while Bays celebrates his today. Paquin recently had a residency in Los Angeles at The Hotel Cafe playing solo material along with shows at The Derby and Mr T’s Bowl, while Bays has been helping with the post-production of Hot Hot Heat’s upcoming album Happiness LTD. During Hot Hot Heat’s downtime, Bays recently contributed a remix of The Killers’ “Read My Mind” for that band’s single release and is working on a mix for Steve Aoki’s (Dim Mak) & Blake Miller’s (Moving Units) current collaboration Weird Science. Be sure to visit Hot Hot Heat’s MySpace to stream their new song, entitled “Give Up?,” and check out their upcoming tour dates. Los Angeles tour dates are still in the works. Their first single, “Let Me In,” will hit radio mid-July. Once again, Happy Birthday Steve and Luke, and we at The Scenestar hope to see Hot Hot Heat in town again real soon.
